How to So-LAY
Prep:
Always exfoliate, wax/shave, and remove any old tan at least 24 hours before applying your new tan. Those little brown dots that sometimes appear? They’re usually caused by rushed prep — giving your skin that full 24 hours helps prevent them.
Application:
Use a generous amount on each area and blend well to ensure it’s fully absorbed. For hands and feet, we’ve got you covered — using a brush to blend any excess product down onto these areas will leave a natural, seamless finish.
Guide Colour:
Don’t worry about how the colour looks when it first goes on. The brown colour you see is simply a bronzer guide to help you see where you’ve applied. This guide will rinse off in the shower, leaving behind a tan that continues to deepen over the next 24 hours.
Product Care
Store in a cool, dry place — keep your bottle away from direct sunlight and heat to protect the formula.
• Keep the lid tightly closed after each use to stop air from thickening or drying out the mousse.
• Avoid water getting into the bottle — moisture can affect the consistency of the formula.
• Clean the pump regularly — wipe the nozzle after each use to prevent build-up and clogging.
• Keep upright — storing the bottle standing up helps the pump work smoothly.
• Use within 12 months of opening for the best results and formula freshness.

Our formula is designed to develop quickly and dry to a natural, streak-free finish, minimising transfer. To reduce any risk, allow at least 10 minutes for the tan to dry before getting dressed. Wearing loose, dark clothing can also help avoid any minor transfer.
We don’t recommend sleeping in this product, as leaving it on too long can cause off tones or uneven color. Depending on your skin type, anything over 6 hours may result in your tan turning orange. For best results, stick to the recommended developing time. Leaving your tan on for longer doesn’t always make it darker. Tan works because of DHA, a safe chemical that reacts with your skin to create your colour. After about 6 hours, the reaction can start to create off tones or cause the tan to crack earlier than expected, so sticking to the recommended times gives the best results.
Don’t worry! Our tan is designed to have a darker tone during application—this bronzer acts as your guide so you can see exactly where you’ve applied it and where you haven’t.
If your tan feels too dark after washing off and developing, don’t stress! Simply shower once or twice, and it will lighten a lot. Your tan will naturally fade over the next 2–3 days, giving you a beautiful, even glow.
Our products are safe for pregnancy and breastfeeding, but we always recommend consulting your doctor if you have any concerns. For extra caution, do a patch test 24 hours before use, as your skin may be more sensitive during this time.
Don’t worry! When you wash your tan off, the bronzer that gives you that instant glow will come off too. Over the next 8–24 hours, your tan will develop to its full, natural color.
If you feel your tan is still too light, you can reapply and leave it on for and additional 1–3 hours depending on the depth of colour you want. Next time, you could also try two layers when applying or leaving it on slightly longer for an even richer glow.
Everyone’s skin reacts a little differently! Our tan uses DHA, which interacts with the top layer of your skin to create a natural bronze. Skin type, natural oils, previous products, and how thickly you apply the tan can all affect how dark it looks.
Don’t worry—your tan will develop beautifully and evenly. For a deeper glow, you can always reapply or build up gradually.
